For years, Dr. Ramesh Sivanpillai has been called upon to handle remote sensing analysis after major disasters that include fires, floods and hurricanes. The University of Wyoming faculty member was recognized for his longtime work, which includes teaching and mentoring 200-plus students in remote sensing applications, when he recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from AmericaView.

Dr. Sivanpillai, an instructional professor with UW’s School of Computing/Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WYGISC), received the honor on April 15 during AmericaView’s annual meeting in Madison, Wis.

MILAAP students shine at Laramie International Flavor Festival with Culinary Creativity and Storytelling:

Our students rule! Aniket Sharma and Nikhil Srivastava proudly represented India at the Laramie International Flavor Festival, where their culinary talents and storytelling stood out.

 

Nikhil, a PhD student in Molecular and Life Sciences at UW, served Mango and Green Tea Ice Cream and won the Story Award in the student category.

 

Aniket, a PhD student in Animal Science, presented Mango Lassi with Custard, which earned second prize overall and also won the Story Award. Their creativity and cultural flair made India shine at the festival!

Sindhu Reddy Kalathur Gopal Joins Boise State as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor: 

We are excited to celebrate Sindhu Reddy Kalathur Gopal as she embarks on a new and inspiring journey as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at Boise State University! During her time as a School of Computing Graduate Scholar at the University of Wyoming, Sindhu consistently stood out for her dedication, intellectual curiosity, and expertise. Her passion for research, excellence in teaching, and innovative mindset have made a lasting impression on our community. As she begins this next chapter, we know she will continue to inspire, lead, and shape the future of her field. Congratulations, Sindhu! We’re proud of you and can’t wait to follow your accomplishments at Boise State.
